Hi Kent; I'm from the old school, find a grassy field somewhere and just take your time and find out what every thing does and how it reacts. Go slow. The first time I operated a motorcycle I immediately discovered which way to turn the throttle (gas) to slow down. After you know what all the controls do, you can graduate to the High School parking lot when it's empty and find out how to ride it around in circles and shift gears.
You will probably have to apply for a learner's permit, from then on it's all time and experience.
Motorcycling is great, but be careful, and always remember, the wheels go down and the seat stays up. Frank
